School Loop shows the full intelligence of Wyandotte

As part of USD 500 trying to get the parents involved in schoolwork and for kids to keep track of their grades the district invested in the website School Loop . THis was a great investment and it has been very good for students who want to keep track of their work.

Unfortunately lately it has been used to pass notices about some things that people really do not care about. That is not even the worst part. The worst? Grammer and typing. Anyone who knows me knows that I do not like text talk, numbers in place of letters and other things like that.

WAT YALL THINK ABOUT SGN, TEZ, 100 BOYZ,GERRY ,QUES  PERFORM AT THE AWARD ASSEMBLY TO LET PPL KNOW WE OUT HERE MAN FO REAL IM DIGGN IT SO WAT YALL THINK YEP!!!!!!!!!!!! MAN FO REAL WE CAN PULL THIS OFF MAN FO REAL IF WE DO I LET ALL YALL KNOW !!!!!!!!!!!

I have no clue what this means. not only is it missing crucial parts needed in a full sentence I am all ready to call this another language.

WE GOTTA SHW THESE PPL UP HERE AT THE DOTTE DAT THE CLASS OF 10 IZ THE ISH REAL TALK SO WAT DAT B LIKE !!!!!!!!!!!!

If this is a message to represent my graduating class then I am going to fail and see if the Class of 2011 is any smarter.

does any body take steriods

I don't think anyone would admit to that.

Here is the thing. people criticize us about being poor in our education standards, we try to prove them wrong. The good thing is that the outside world cannot see this.

My Beef With The Swine Flu Fearers

I want to say something to you. IT IS THE FLU. It is like any other flu. it comes it passes. The only reason we make a big deal about it is the Media is making a big deal over a small outbreak in MEXICO. This may sound a little racist but these things happen in poor un-industrialized countries. the reason there is a problem there is that there are not proper medical facilities to handle this. So my message to you all is just treat it like any other flu. you bring back the plague then I will be a little concerned. This is a great quote from MSNBC It used to be that viruses were named for places.  The 1918 pandemic was called “Spanish Flu.“  Such names lead to discrimination.  But I think we can stop worrying about this outbreak of swine flu

The reason I bring this up is that I have had 3 letters from school talking about it

1) General information about the Swine Flu
2) A reported case in Wyandotte County
3) A sibling of a student in WHS might have it.

200 Posts

What is to come?

That is a good question.

Labels
When I started blogging I was against labels. I thought it would clutter up the blog and lose readers. After considering it I have decided to include labels into my posts. I will spend the next few days adding labels to the past 200 posts of mine. They will be simple one word labels. Kind of like categories.

I might lose the .blogspot

Ok. this has been something that I have wanted to do. Now I know how cheap it is to lose it i will consider it. Of course i will let everyone know if it happens.

Guest posts

I want to start having guest posts on the blog. Other people have plenty of things to say but they don't have the medium to say it. They also don't want to start a blog for the One Thing. So I am going to open up my blog for people to send in things to talk about.

that is all so far. I will of course let you know that other thing will be happening.

I Do Not Approve

Jay Leno, You are a decent comedian and an interesting TV personality. I like to check in on your Late Show from time to time. I do not however approve of you taking over the Primetime airwaves Every night. You will in fact destroy Some shows that Thrived for a while. Chuck. The show that  I love and would hate to see leave is now in danger by your show. Other good shows like this will fall because there is not and open time slot. I am disappointed in you Jay Leno. Perhaps your show will get cancelled before it even starts.

Good News For the Gay Community

Popular SCI FI's new franchise Stargate Universe has broken the boundaries that that Stargate Franchise said it would never go into.

Stargate Universe will have Gay characters.

“There are at least one and potentially more gay characters on Universe,” Cooper said in answer to a fan’s question. Wright stated, “There’s actually two.”

One that we know of right now is Camille Way (Ming-Na).

I have to say this is an interesting direction for the franchise to go. Stargate usually wanted to keep something like this off of the show due to the fact that it would stir up too much of a social debate. Even though Science Fiction has always been an outlet for social and political issues I am led to wonder whether Cooper and Wright are making the correct decision.

“This goes towards our goal to make the characters on Universe as complex and complicated and realistic and identifiable as we can, to as many people as we can,” Cooper said. “And that’s not just a desire for ratings. That’s the desire to portray humanity, and make a show that is saying something about who we are.”

It seems though that fans are not as excited as was planned. For such a liberal franchise Stargate seems to draw in many social conservative viewers. some even said that due to this they would probably not watch the show, neither will their family.

I of course, a social liberal and loyal democrat will watch Stargate Underground. It is still Stargate and it is living up to it's job as a Science Fiction show to present us with the issues we are facing today.

USD 500: What Really Grinds My Gears

I thought the title appropraite for the things that the School district is doing at this current time.

As if blocking every website known to man want enough of a problem USD 500 is finding it funny to crash students hard drives now.

That is what happened to me last evening. I was doing what I usually do, Looking at videos, checking e-mail and putting together the magazine. all of a sudden the cursor does the spinny pinwheel thing that it does when applications do not respond. After shutting down the computer for like 5-10 minutes i turned it on but it would not boot the OS. I thought that this may be a one time error so i proceeded to shut it down and try again. After 10 times i figured that there was a hard drive error. (partially due to the fact I head a funny noise coming from the hard drive)

I proceeded to take the laptop apart. I know that the Gods at USD 500 Office would frown upon that but I am more qulified than the Pong players at USD 500's IT offices. n the middle of the operation I called my comrade David to see if he knows what is going on. To my surprise he was having the same problem as well.

After calling various students from Various High schools in the school district I realized that this was not localized and it all had the same constant, We were connected to the internet.

When the laptops are connected to the internet the School District can do anything they want to it. This includes security upgrades, file deleting, even frying the hard drive. When the laptop program was announced the IT department could GPS track any laptop any time. If it was stolen they could track it and fry the hard drive remotely.

So i now know what they did. I now have a spare computer and it sucks.
