Haloween Festivities are going to be great this year

This is probably going to be the best  post-trick or treating age Halloween ever. i will reprise my Ben 10 costume from last year and joining Angela in taking Olivia trick-or- treating. i know that some of you will probably want to see Angela's non-risque nurse costume but unfortunately a gag order was put in place preventing me from posting it. i will have pictures of my costume and Olivia's if Crystal (Angela's Sister, i will nickname her 'Patience'.) will let me.

I think that the biggest difference from mine and Ben 10's costume is that i do not have the green pants to match. yes i do have a cardboard Omnitrix held together by duct tape and hot glue. it was popular when i was passing out candy last year.

i will be logging during the Debate Tournament tomorrow so i am excited!

Reason's That Blogger is better than Xanga.

Blogger- more for the serious blogger that wants their word put out on the street. allows more than just pcture input. Blogger allows scheduled posts and serious formatting.

Xanga- doesn't offer much. for the person that wants to use the site to just goof off. i think that the only positive thing for Xanga is that you can get your feet wet if you are interested in blogging. the subscription part i don't like much.

Here is a really good song that i think people might like. it is used a lot in film.
'Have You Ever Seen The Rain'
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Chronicle: 20 Greatest Hits - Have You Ever Seen the Rain?

Morning Announcments

wow, i successfully told the school over the PA the announcements for the day. i was really suprised as to the fact that i did well and i was told by others that i did. we have a four to five student rotation so it will be probably next wednesday when i broadcast next.

The Worst The Best in Movies

Hot Rod is probably the worst movie ever made.  i honestly did not see much of a substance. i finally saw it with a stack of other movies that my girlfriend let me borrow for  a week. it had some OK comedy lines but as a whole I finished the movie saying, "Thats it?"

Hot Rod let a lot to be desired and had much potential as a real good movie.  But in the state of hollywood productions the substance level is dropping considerably.

But On the Flip side i did like the movie Iron Man. very good story line and a perfect part for Robert Downey Jr. to play. it stayed close to the story of the comic books and made a pretty good set up of a possible Iron Man 2 if they decide to do that.
All in all i want a sequel but i wonder how it will work out. If they keep the director and the screenwriters the same then i have no doubt that it will come out smelling like roses.

sorry

i know that some of you readers have been wondering why there are not as many posts as usual. the reason is frankly there is not as much to talk about as earlier. the only major thing that is going on is the election and there is not much to report on until Tuesday. of course if something interesting pops up then I will post it.

Photos are uploaded

I have now uploaded all of the pictures from Thoroughly Modern Millie and Hairspray Musical Review and i have found some old pictures from last year. the link is here for the Musical Review Photos

School Loop Spam

it seems that not even my schooloop account is safe from spammers. and even one of the spammers is my sister. i know that i have made earlier posts about this and i do get tired of reading what people think. if i wanted to know where you are going to be in a few years then i would have asked you myself. perhaps there will be a learning experience with this when i send a message to the people that spammed me telling them to shut up.

10 Day Countdown and Sign thefts are once again returning

Ah yes the ability to make your beliefs public are once again crushed as this election year has brought more sign theft and vandalism. my question is why?

put up your own signs. And grow up.

My Condolences To The Hudson Family

Yesterday I read some disturbing news that Jennifer Hudsons Brother and Mother were shot to death yesterday in their home and a 7 year old nephew is still missing.  Today it was reported that the FBI is helping in the investigation of the missing boy.

Authorities have arrested William Balfour, the estranged husband of Hudson's sister Julia, whose son Julian King has not been seen since the shootings. A friend of Julia's exclusively told E! News that Balfour, 27, is not the biological father of the missing boy.
The FBI was called into the search because of the possibility that the boy was taken across state lines. Law enforcement sources tell theChicago Tribune that they were hoping to find Julian when they picked up Balfour but that the boy was not with him.

Of course Jennifer had no comment and I do not blame her. It will take time for the incident to fully sink in and the justice system to take appropriate action. Of Course My condolences are with the Hudson Family and anyone affected by this tragic event. And of course if there is any developments i will make a post as soon as humanly possible.

Inquisition to get Better ratings

In Rely to a post i made earlier i said that the Stargate Atlantis Episode 'Inquisition' would get equal ratings to Cor-Ai.

After seeing the episode i want to change the prediction and make it say that it will get better ratings. (It was much better than Cor-Ai)

Reasons That COEXIST will never work

  1. War On Christmas
  2. Halloween ignorance
  3. Radical Islam
  4. Republican Bias
  5. Catholic Superiority
  6. Westernization (Also See 5)
  7. Hate on Individuality (See 4, 5, 6)
  8. Seemingly Religious Influence on Decisions Of Law (See The Law Library)
  9. Ignorance that will never Go Away
  10. Click Here
  11. Its Support Of Marijuana Usage
  12. People will never accept Other Religions as equals (See 3, 5)

Some Reasons, Please Comment.

Note: i support What COEXIST does but i see no future in it's efforts

Musical Review Pictures

The musical Review Photos (no matter how bad they were taken) will be uploaded on monday as Photobucket is indeed blocked when i am at home.

Finally Getting an XBox!

finally after much wheeling and dealing i will be getting an XBox tomorrow morning before i go to Angela's house. Woo Hoo moment #3. i should keep a list of woo hoo moments. but non the less if you have Video Game donations for the XBox i will take them and repay you with a thank you. i already have the original Halo so do not need that one.

You Can't Stop The Beat!

Wyandotte High School put on a spectacular performance of Thoroughly Modern Millie and Hairspray In Review. i was able to go and see it as the photographer and journalist. And i will say that i was impressed and wanting more. i wanted more in a good way not a "They didn't do as well as they could have" way.

I enjoyed this very much and The cast sang very well. The good thing is that they were able to compensate for the fact that the microphone would go out at various times.

the songs were great the dancing was great and the costumes were wonderful. my favorite Number was "You Can't Stop The Beat" from Hairspray.

I was mainly surprised by the turnout. not only did they fill up all of the seats in the Recital hall they even had to add seats to have all the kids a place to sit.

In All honesty i know that this post is lacking but i want to get this out and i will have a better reprint on Monday or the weekend. i want to congratulate the cast and crew on this great performance.

(Special congrats to the techs i am one of you and you are a needed part of the production)

My Weapon Against Chain Mail

This is my weapon against people who send me chain mail. beware. this is the sheriff in town that gets stuff done.

Chain Mail for me is becoming a problem

very much so. i have many contacts in my e-mail and about 90% of them will send me anywhere from 5-10 chain letters each day telling me to send this to my friends or i will lose someone i love or crap like that.

on a basic day I spend most of my time deleting these chain letters hoping that when i tell people not to send them to me they will listen. no such luck. only one person out of the 100 senders has listened and has stopped. that leaves a lot for me to deal with. I am now going to start adding people to the spam list so i do not get ANY of the e-mails they send even if it is actually important.

Warcraft Movie, no. Halo Movie, Yes

Why is hollywood trying to take video games and making it into movies? The reason being is that there apparently is nothing else. yahoo posted a news article about Sam Raimi planning on making a movie off of the video game World Of Warcraft.

It's no wonder, then, that gamers and cinephiles alike are excited at the news of Spider-Man director Sam Raimi praising the big-screen possibilities of beloved multiplayer game, World of Warcraft. In a spirited MTV article exploring the problems behind video game movies, Raimi weighed in by explaining why games tend to be tougher to turn into compelling flicks than comics.

Of Course it was reported earlier this year that Halo would have a movie made after it. my response to that was that of happiness. Halo has a story-line, characters and everything needed to make a movie. Warcraft does not. i see no future for a Warcraft movie and i do not plan to see anything past an idea.

Hollywood screenwriter, Stuart Beattie, who was responsible for Gears of War screenplay for New Line Cinema last year, has written the new Halo script. Word says that Microsoft like it and that they are discussing possible plans for it to be made.
Bettie beleives the old style Halo movie incaration is dead and is ready to release his vision, Halo: The Fall of Reach, a prequel to the first game.  John Gaudiosi finds out what this vision is, in his interview for game daily.

The 50 Most Influential Men

Yahoo released an article today about the 49 Most Influential men in the world. might i say that they forgot one. Me, that is right of all the famous people out there they forgot the moderate Democrat that is in KCK. when they learn of the mistake this is the picture that they will use.

yes it is very pretty. i know. but the article says that some of the men are..... blocked by the internet filter but who cares? i should be on the list!

Cor-Ai and Inquisition To get same rating

this is a prediction but from the content of the upcoming Stargate Atlantis episode 'Inquisition' it will be similar in ratings to the Stargate SG-1 episode Cor-Ai.

here is the Synopsis of the Stargate SG-1 episode 'Cor-Ai '

Teal'c must stand trial for a crime committed while he served as first prime of Apophis when a villager on an alien world identifies him as the Jaffa who killed his father.

And here is the synopsis for the Stargate Atlantis Episode 'Inquisition '

A new coalition of human worlds puts the Atlantis team on trial for their alleged crimes against the Pegasus Galaxy.

So as you can see that this is going to be similar. i really liked Cor-Ai and i was wondering wether there was going to be a similar episode on Atlantis. The links will take you to Gateworld's site and see what they have to say.

Ratings for Cor-Ai
Gateworld   3/5
Gateworld Fan 7.71/ 10.0
TV.com 9.1/10

Honestly I did not see this one coming.

Honestly i did not. as usual i check they news Headlines on Yahoo. (Mainly the entertainment section) and i see a game that i was waiting for is not going to be released becasue of some religios ranting. i am somewhat happy to say that it was not the Catholic Church this time but the Muslims. this is a clipping from the article .

The "social platforming" game is already gathering rave reviews, but it hasn't proven popular with one Muslim group, which issued a complaint to the game's publisher Sony concerning one background music track. Performed by award-winning Malian musician Toumani Diabate, the song quotes two verses from the Qur'an. Many Muslims consider the mixing of music and scripture to be deeply offensive.

This is the first time that i have heard any kind of intervening by the Islamic faith. i am sure that there will be some kind of settlement and the game will come out later than expected.

I am just waiting for the Catholic church to say that it is promoting Atheism in some sort of way. (They Always seem to do that.) they even tried to say that my favorite series was promoting beliefs in other gods and the movie Juno was giving the Catholic message when Juno decided not to give an abortion.

but that is a post for another time.

just remember, I did not see this coming.

Atheism is NOT Satanism

Being an Atheist i get various responses from people who find out. people think that i am right and there is no such thing as a god or higher power. Others think that i am going to hell.

But the best and most annoying response from people when i tell them is that they think i worship the devil. here is a sample of how the conversation usually goes.

"So Ben, I did not see you go up to receive communion today. Why is that?"

"I am an Atheist. therefore i can not go up"

"Oh, so you worship the devil?"

Yes, that is how it goes. i think that it has happened at least 10 to 20 times now. i want to make this straight. Atheism is NOT Satanism. The definition for Atheist is a theory or belief that god does not exist. Satanism is the worship of Satan, typically involving a travesty of Christian symbols and practices, such as placing a cross upside down. So leaders and future leaders, how is Atheism worshiping the devil?

Its Good To Know I Am Part Of The Democratic Party

Or as it has been recently called. The Party Of Death as us Democrats are now being called. I guess I feel better in that i am not part of the conservative right wing.

some things about Catholics that people need to know

• The Catholic Church led The Crusades, which were some of the bloodiest wars fought in the name of God.

• The Catholic Church engaged in the Spanish Inquisition, which led to the oppression of Jews, non-Catholic Christians and Muslims. Many were tortured, killed and forced to convert to Catholicism.

• The Catholic Church's cowardice acting against Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany. Hitler, who himself was raised as a Catholic, killed millions of Jews and non-desirables. While historians debate how bad the church was, it can clearly be criticized for not leading a movement against Hitler and not being sympathetic to the Jewish religion and its treatment in Nazi Germany.

• Most notably, the church's cover-up of countless child molestation cases involving cardinals and Catholic priests. I cannot imagine how these incidents will affect the futures of the children involved.

This is from veraserum.com

Within the paradigm of the Catholic Church there ARE things that people should be punished for. While pedophilia isn’t one of those things, apparently stealing is.
The Archdiocese of Nebraska is suing Sister Barbara Markey and some of her family members in order to recover nearly $900,000 the archdiocese says she stole as director of the archdiocese’s Catholic Family Life Office.
I agree that if Sister Barbara is guilty of stealing (and based on the information that has been released, there isn’t much doubt), she should be punished.
But if the Catholic Church is upset enough about a nun stealing money that they will take her to both criminal and civil court, why don’t they take steps to have their priests punished in criminal court for destroying the lives of THOUSANDS of young boys and men across the country?
Maybe it’s just me, but that seems inconsistent.
What Sister Barbara Markey should have done is taken part of that money she stole and used it to pay for hotel rooms to molest young children. Then the Catholic Church would have given her all the cover and forgiveness she needed.
Shut Up Burke, we all dont see your super conservative views.
So my question to you is. how can us Democrats still be part of the Catholic Church?

Abstinence Education Does Work

As we all know the mandated form of sex education in the US is Abstinence. i for a long time have seen this plan as a plan that fails. And it does. this is purely for entertainment purposes but i saw a booklet in an undisclosed classroom that made me laugh and see the sex education for what it was.

Like i said, it is funny. i will probably post this picture on my news blog as a story on sex education. To find the news blog look on my profile.

I am an idiot

this is to anyone in California i told to vote yes on Prop 8. i thought it was to allow gay marriage. but after further discovery i found out that it was to to ban it. i want to say sorry if anyone had been on the fence and i said to vote yes. crap. there is not way to put this other than to say that i am Pro Gay Marriage because it is equal and everyone needs to be equal. NO ON 8!

This is better than a month ago

people have said many times that you can change your viewpoint on things in a short amount of time. I have two arguments to that.

1. September 11, 2001- before this day people did not see Middle Easterners as a threat that much and did not dislike them. but after the tower attacks people started seeing any one of Middle Eastern heritage as a terrorist.

2. My Political Quiz. I took a political Quiz at the start of September. after a month i took the quiz again. here are the 2 results. the first one scared me quite a bit.

September 1st, 2008

Your PERSONAL issues Score is 80%.
Your ECONOMIC issues Score is 90%.

According to your answers, the political group that agrees with you most is...
LIBERTARIANS support maximum liberty in both personal and
economic matters. They advocate a much smaller government; one
that is limited to protecting individuals from coercion and violence.
Libertarians tend to embrace individual responsibility, oppose
government bureaucracy and taxes, promote private charity, tolerate
diverse lifestyles, support the free market, and defend civil liberties.

First Steps

I am happy to announce that i have got an internship at the Kansas City Kansan. these are my first steps to conquering the world of journalism. Perhaps i will get good at this and become an editor. (That would be fun) but only time will tell at this point. of course i will be loyal to all of you readers out there and keep up on my posting as much as i can!

I Finally Got It!

yes to all of you fans out there. i got the twilight book. i guess the next few posts will be about how I think of the book and where i think it is going. i am mainly reading it so see what the excitement is about and because i am going to see the movie with a friend.
