Comic Con for me

I did not attend Comic Con 2009 of course but I did keep my eyes and ears at the ready to hear what is being announced. this is to highlight what I am excited about for the coming future.

Stargate Universe
Before I was skeptic as to whether Stargate Universe would help the franchise or hurt it. During Comic Con two trailers were released showing different sides of the show. Both have now strengthened my resolve in the series being the best that we have seen.

Alice In Wonderland
Tim Burton announced and released concept art pretty recently of his latest remake. Alice In Wonderland. The good thing is at Comic Con, there was a trailer. after seeing the trailer I am sure that it wil be awesome and I will be attending opening night.

Avatar
James Cameron finally did it. Avatar The Last Airbender has finally been announced as a movie production. I myself have not been big into the Avatar show But I am excited to see how he does it.

Honorable mentions
These following showcases are somewhat important to me but are not huge announcements.

District 9
THis tale of Alien refugees that are detained by the government. It's like the whole civil rights thing ever again. Ever since the early announcments last fall I have been keeping my eyes open for any District 9 news.

Ben 10: Alien Force
Season 3 is on its way this fall. It has been confirmed at this years Comic Con. The most popular Cartoon Network franchise since the Code lyoko series will be recieving a third season set to air sometime this fall.

Caprica
The only reason this one is getting mentioned is because of the release date change. When the trailer premiered during the Battlestar Galactica finale this show created a lot of buzz especially pertaining to the effect on the BSG storyline. it was originally set for spring/summer 2010 it has had its date moved to January 22, 2010.

Happy Birthday To Me

I want to say happy 18th birthday to myself.

It is pretty straight foreword.

I want to thank my mom for going through the nine months of pregnancy to have me. not to mention the 2 false labors and the 26 hours of labor.

i was a pain even before i was born.

Chris Drummond: One Day

The world may need to watch out for Indie artists. They are on the rise and Kansas City musician Chris Drummond is no different.

High school student Chris Drummond has always loved music. He started out early as a member of a KC garage band named Thunder Muffin. After a few steady years Chris broke off and went solo for a while. Although this is usually how a music career can end it was just the beginning of the Newest Chapter:

One Day

One day is the first album made by Chris and he is very proud of it. The entire 10 minute album was made on one day. And that was not just the recording. Writing to completion it was a one day test to see if it could happen. And it did.

The first track on the album, "Piranhaz" reminds me of the Dawn Landes song "Straight Lines" in the fact that both have an Indie sound to it and that is what Attracted me. Other than that it is a mellow song and sets a tone for most of the album.

The rest of the album has a similar sound to it. The songs are pretty mellow until you get to the track "Fuck Drugs". This is more of a quickstep song about how to say no to drugs. (Maybe the AD council and the DEA need to play this song)

In short: This is a wonderful 10 minutes of your life and sets the bar for Indie/Garage bands very high. You can e-mail Chris Drummond at drummerboy45884@yahoo.com

(Note: Ask him if he still has the song "Space Cows" it is an awesome song)
